Seminar on the Oriental Archaeology curriculum – presentations by Prof. M. Guirguis and Prof. M. Pucci

The Museum of the Near East, Egypt, and the Mediterranean at Sapienza University of Rome will host the Seminar of the Oriental Curriculum of the Doctoral School in Archaeology, scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m., at the Rectorate Building (CU001). The meeting will open with an introduction by Prof. Lorenzo Nigro, coordinator of the Oriental Curriculum, and will continue with two presentations dedicated to central themes of Mediterranean and Near Eastern archaeology: sculptural production between the Bronze Age and the Iron Age in southeastern Anatolia and Syria, and gender and childhood archaeology in the Phoenician and Punic Mediterranean.
The seminar will be broadcast live on the MVOEM Facebook page.
Attendance is mandatory for doctoral students.
