The Department of Humanities at the University of Calabria is organizing an international doctoral conference entitled “Tessera hospitalis – Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Humanities,” dedicated to dialogue between different methodologies and perspectives within the humanities.
The initiative, which has no thematic constraints, invites Italian and foreign doctoral students to work in groups of at least two people from different scientific and disciplinary fields, combining areas such as literature, history, geography, philosophy, art, archaeology, music, performing arts, and linguistics.
The name Tessera hospitalis recalls an ancient symbol of alliance and hospitality, which becomes a metaphor for the conference's intent: to create a space for meeting, exchange, and reconnection between often fragmented disciplines, promoting true methodological hybridization.
Participating groups must propose a shared theme in which each member can use their own research tools while maintaining a common line of dialogue.
Types of contributions accepted
Examples of eligible contributions:
reception and transformation of ideas, artistic and literary forms from antiquity to the contemporary age;
comparison of different research methodologies;
analysis of cultural themes or phenomena from multidisciplinary perspectives;
dialogue between theoretical and practical approaches in the field of humanities.
Abstracts will be evaluated by the scientific-organizational committee according to relevance, originality, and methodological rigor.
Contributions in Italian and English will be accepted.
The deadline for submitting proposals is January 31, 2026, to the email address:
