We would like to highlight the course offered by the Doctoral School in Archaeology - Prehistoric Archaeology Curriculum, but open to all curricula, entitled “General principles of isotopic analysis: paleoenvironmental analysis,” taught by Prof. Alessia Masi (Department of Environmental Biology, Sapienza University of Rome).

The course will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in Room T (ground floor), Ex Vetrerie Sciarra, Via dei Volsci 122.There will be different schedules for the basic level (first year) and advanced level (second year).
The course aims to provide an introduction to the basic principles of paleoenvironmental and isotopic analysis and their potential in the field of historical and archaeological research.In particular, it will cover aspects related to the reconstruction of climate and agricultural practices through the study of plant remains.The course will be divided into two parts: a general theoretical-methodological part and a second laboratory part, with the reading of articles to learn how to interpret the data.
