On February 6, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the course “Databases and Digital Management of Historical Archaeological Data” will be held. This is a basic level (first year) course promoted by the Doctoral School of Archaeology – Prehistoric Archaeology Curriculum, but open to all curricula.
The course will be taught by Dr. Francesco Di Filippo, CNR Institute for Mediterranean Studies, and will take place in Classroom G (second floor), Ex Vetrerie Sciarra, Via dei Volsci 122.
The course aims to introduce the basic principles for the formalization and management of archaeological data, demonstrating various tools and methodologies, with particular attention to open-source tools and storage and sharing formats.

The course will be divided into two parts: a general theoretical-methodological part and a second part consisting of aworkshop, with the reading of articles to learn how to interpret data.
