The Advanced Seminar on Greek Epigraphy (SAEG), now in its tenth edition (after the first two held at the University of Bologna and the subsequent ones at the universities of Naples, Milan, Turin, Venice, Rome-Sapienza, Perugia, and Roma Tre), is now a traditional event that provides the scientific community with an important opportunity for dialogue on topics related to Greek epigraphy.
The SAEG, created on the initiative of Teresa Alfieri, Claudia Antonetti, Laura Boffo, Lucia Criscuolo, Enrica Culasso, and Elena Miranda, who have constantly contributed to its success, represents a highly significant moment in the field of epigraphic studies, characterized by a lively and constructive working atmosphere that has always distinguished it since its first edition.
In 2027, the University of Salerno will organize SAEG X, scheduled for January 14-16. As usual, ample space will be reserved for the presentation of the work of researchers in training, with the hope that, alongside their contributions, there will also be those of more experienced scholars, in order to create the fruitful exchange of skills and perspectives that has always characterized the editions of SAEG.
Anyone wishing to propose a presentation at SAEG X on aspects of Greek epigraphy, from its origins to late antiquity, may send their application to saeg@unisa.it by June 15, 2026, indicating the title of the paper and attaching an abstract (maximum 250 words) and a brief CV.
Depending on the number of applications received, the possibility of opening a poster section will be evaluated, for which a future circular will be dedicated.
Further detailed information about the conference venues and the final program will be released at a later date.
