We are pleased to bring to your attention the launch of CHAIN 2027 – 5th Edition.

The Cultural Heritage Academic Interdisciplinary Network (CHAIN),established in 2021 by the PhD Programme in Sciences for Heritage and Cultural Production at the University of Catania, offers a renewed opportunity for interdisciplinary dialogue among researchers, institutions, cultural heritage professionals, and practitioners on issues relating to cultural heritage.
From 26 to 28 January 2027, the Department of Humanities of the University of Catania will host the fifth edition of the CHAIN International Conference. This year’s Call for Papers is devoted to the theme “Borders and Thresholds in Cultural Heritage: Liminal Spaces of Encounter and Conflict.”
The call is open to early-career professionals working in the field of cultural heritage, including PhD candidates, researchers, museum professionals, and members of cultural associations.
The conference will be held at the Department of Humanities of the University of Catania, with the possibility of participating remotely.Contributions may be presented either as oral presentations or posters. The official languages of the conference are English and Italian, while presentation slides must be prepared in English.
Those interested are invited to submit an abstract of no more than 300 words by 10 August 2026 segreteria@chain-conference.com
