Small-organic fluorophores have become major tools for biological, biochemical and biomedical
research but also for diagnosis. Despite continuing efforts in this field, their design is generally
based on well-known classes of fluorophores (coumarins, BODIPY dyes, fluoresceins,
rhodamines, phenoxazines and cyanines). So far, no ideal probe has been found and the need to
find alternative and/or complementary structures is still pertinent. Recently, 1,3a,6atriazapentalene moiety represents a real interest in this field with its promising optical properties.
Meanwhile studies around original Lanthanide based probe will be presented
