Delivered study plan 2025/2026

The PhD Programme offers a structured and progressive three-year training pathway aimed at educating researchers in translational oncology, precision medicine, and network medicine.

The curriculum (23 courses, 41st cycle) includes an average of 41–46 teaching hours per year, consistently aligned with the programme’s learning objectives:
Year 1: consolidation of multidisciplinary core competencies (omics sciences, biostatistics, R programming, immuno-oncology, research methodology).
Year 2: integration and application through interdisciplinary working groups based on real patient data, advanced experimental models, and scientific communication training.
Year 3: strengthening of project design and translational skills (clinical trial design, regulatory framework, drug development, public speaking). Frontal teaching activities are progressively reduced over the three years in order to foster research autonomy and intensify individual research work.

The programme is complemented by seminars and transversal training activities organized in collaboration with University structures and nationally recognized institutions, including Sapienza Università di Roma, Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Accademia dei Lincei, and Fondazione AIRC per la Ricerca sul Cancro, ensuring interdisciplinary openness, scientific quality, and strong connections with national and international research networks.
