The PhD promotes agreements and partnerships with universities, research institutions, companies, and public and private bodies, both in Italy and abroad, in order to broaden and enhance the educational and scientific opportunities offered to doctoral candidates. These collaborations are part of the School’s internationalization strategy and its openness to the productive and healthcare sectors, in line with the strategic objectives of the University and the affiliated Departments.
Agreements with Universities and Research Institutions
The PhD supports the establishment of agreements with foreign universities and research centers whose educational programs and research lines are consistent with the doctoral courses. These agreements provide for joint teaching and seminar activities, research periods at partner institutions, co-supervision of doctoral theses, and shared participation in competitive national and international projects.
Joint and Double Doctoral Degrees
In collaboration with selected foreign universities, the PhD develops agreements aimed at establishing joint, double, or multiple doctoral degrees. These agreements clearly define admission requirements, integrated study plans, the duration and modalities of mobility periods, the composition of examination boards, and the procedures for the joint awarding of the degree, thus ensuring transparency and international recognition of the programmes.
Collaborations with Companies and Institutions
The PhD promotes memoranda of understanding and collaboration contracts with companies, healthcare organizations, and institutions in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as with other public and private stakeholders engaged in research and innovation. These agreements support the implementation of joint projects, internships and applied research periods at partner institutions, the co-funding of doctoral scholarships, and initiatives in technology transfer and social impact.
Quality Assurance, Monitoring and Stakeholder Involvement
The design and periodic revision of agreements and partnerships are carried out with the involvement of the Academic Board, quality assurance bodies, the Advisory Board, the Steering Committee, and relevant internal and external stakeholders. The impact of these instruments on training pathways, mobility, scientific output, and career outcomes is regularly monitored, including through systematic consultation with doctoral candidates, alumni, and institutional partners.
