Anthologies, canons, catalogues: preserving and organising the ancient world

TThe PhD candidates of the Doctoral Program in “Classical Antiquity and Its Reception: Archaeology, Philology, History” at the University of Rome Tor Vergata are pleased to announce the second edition of the doctoral conference. The conference is addressed to PhD candidates, postgraduate specialization students, and earlycareer researchers who obtained their PhD no more than two years ago. The theme of the conference is “Anthologies, Canons, Catalogues: Preserving and Ordering the Ancient World.” Below are outlined possible – though not exclusive – approaches to the theme, divided according to the three disciplinary areas of the doctoral program: archaeological; philological; and historical-epigraphic. 

The Conference will take place on 10-11 June 2026 at the Department of Humanities and Philosophy (Macroarea di Lettere e Filosofia), University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Via Columbia 1, 00133 Rome, Italy.
