Delivered study plan 2021/2022

I YEAR
For the A.Y. 2021/22 as part of the programming for the first year which includes 1. courses of an advanced institutional nature, 2. preparatory courses for the knowledge of research methods common to the three curricula and 3. courses on reading the buildings common to the three curricula ( distinct as per specifications in the following note)*
The PhD programs three common theoretical seminars and one design seminar and one specific seminar for each curriculum. The first seminar is "STARTING TO RESEARCH" and includes lessons relating to research tools (for defining the research structure, useful for archival documentation and for drafting bibliographies at different levels of progress, useful for understanding research evaluation) this is accompanied by the seminar of theoretical lessons "THE REASONS FOR RESEARCH" useful for focusing on research topics and methods. to these first two which are "permanent" seminars is added the third theoretical seminar which changes from year to year and which in 2021/22 is dedicated to "AN ARCHITECT, A DETAIL" in which the doctoral students follow the theoretical lessons of the teachers of the college and to conclusion of the same, as a first writing exercise, they prepare an essay (18,000 characters including spaces) on a theme they identified during the seminar and accepted by the teaching staff.
The "SYRACUSE - PALAZZOLO ACREIDE" design seminar takes place throughout the academic year and is divided into lessons dedicated to the topic in which Italian and international experts are called to speak in addition to the teachers of the college. The PhD students are divided into small inter-cycle groups after an initial period in which the teaching staff instructs the theme, they carry out a planning exercise on some areas of the SYRACUSE territory.
The results of the seminars are always subject to publication.
II YEAR
For the A.Y. 2021/22 second-year doctoral students attend the activities common to the three cycles and those organized by the Doctoral School in Architecture Sciences.
They attend the "SIRACUSA - PALAZZOLO ACREIDE" design seminar shared with the other two active cycles. In addition, book presentation activities and conferences organized by the PhD School in Architecture Sciences
The results of the seminars are always subject to publication.
III YEAR
For the A.Y. 2021/22 PhD students follow the "SIRACUSA - PALAZZOLO ACREIDE" design seminar shared with the other two active cycles.
The training plan of the third year is aimed at a further specification and the in-depth application of research methods to the project, it is proposed by the doctoral student on the basis of the tutor's indications and is submitted to the Academic Board for its approval.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd year PhD students attended the Readings|Writings seminar and the Versus seminar in which they attended lectures and meetings of a theoretical nature.
They participated in the conferences and lectures organized within the framework of the doctoral school and the doctorate in architecture and construction and intended for all the doctoral students of the active cycles.
They participated in the II day of studies of the doctorate in architecture and construction. They also participated in national and international conferences.
The doctoral students had two reports with the teaching staff on the progress of their thesis and a check before delivery to the external evaluators.
