Research activity of the academic year 2023/2024
The PhD students of the 37th cycle, who have completed their third year, have dedicated most of their time to the conclusion of their research, also in the context of institutional projects, to the drafting of publications and to the compilation of the thesis. The research of each PhD student was supported by training activities followed mainly of a specialized nature, provided in advanced training courses held by national and/or foreign research institutions. As of 27 January 2023, 13 doctoral students of the ordinary call will obtain the title. Another 3 were postponed to May for a more comprehensive review of their thesis based on the judgments of external reviewers. The 12 beneficiaries of PON scholarships (ex dm-1061) have completed the activities with the host institution and the periods abroad where mandatory.
The 32 PhD students of the 37th cycle published a total of 103 research products in journals, conferences and posters in 2024.
The PhD students of the 38th cycle have finished their second year and started the third, they have defined in a complete and exhaustive way the state of the art of their research, with particular reference to the problems still open and the object of their activity. The research of each PhD student was supported by general and specialized training activities.
Several collaborations between PhD students have been established, which have led to joint publications and joint participation in institutional research projects (University Projects, PRIN, etc.) or in the context of contracts for third parties. Several "Research Start-up" projects presented by the same doctoral students on a University call, which involves both individual doctoral students and in association with colleagues and research fellows.
The 20 PhD students of the 38th cycle published a total of 37 research products in journals, conferences and posters in 2024.
The PhD students of the 39th cycle, who have finished their first year and started the second, have identified the topic of their research and have started a documentary and laboratory activity on the subject (where required). The research of each PhD student was mainly supported by general training activities, based on seminars and courses (provided by the PhD itself and/or by other research bodies/groups), aimed at filling any knowledge gaps and directing the student towards a more informed choice of the research topic.
Collaborations and interactions between PhD students, especially if within the same research group, are intense and constant. In the first year, the PhD students of the 39th cycle benefit from the experience of the PhD students of previous years and collaborations are created on similar research topics or continuation of those activated in previous years.
The 22 PhD students of the 39th cycle published a total of 32 research products in journals, conferences and posters in 2024.
