The PhD in Pychology and Social Neuroscience is organized in the Personality and Organizational Psychology (POP), and in the Cognitive Affective and Social Neuroscience (CoSAN) curricula. It is characterized by its national and international collaborations, by the presence of top scientists in its board of professors, by its Joint-degree agreement with the City University of London (UK) which funds POhD positions, and for its innovative and interdisciplinary research lines. All activities are performed in English and students are asked to perform part of their research in foreign Universities. A high number of alumni is now hired in companies, is structured in national and international Universities or in relevant research institutions.
During the first year each student must attend courses both on conceptual models, research methodology and paradigms within the research field of the PhD programme. During the first year, Phd students are required to identify the research line they want to pursue and present their own research project.
During the second and third year students in conjunction with their tutor/supervisor must realize their research projects and scientific publications on Italian and international journals. Scientific publications represent evaluation criteria for the admission to the final defense.
First, second and third year students are required to attend regular seminars, lab meetings and courses planned within the programme as well as summer-schools, national and international conference, stages in different university sites within the International Bilateral cultural and scientific Agreements established by the program. In the second and third year students are asked to carry their research in collaboration with a foreign University and stimulate research exchange and mobility.
