We are delighted to invite you to the inaugural Sapienza-Newcastle University Graduate Conference Voices Across the Divide, which will simultaneously take place at the Marco Polo Building (Rome), the Percy Building (Newcastle) and on Zoom on 24th January 2025. Please find the poster and conference programmes attached.

The conference will be held online with the option to join your cohort on campus at Sapienza or Newcastle University:

We prepared two nearly identical versions of the programme, one for each hub. Please refer to either the Rome programme or the Newcastle one depending on where you will be attending.

This conference has been developed from the seminar series ‘Voices’, which is co-hosted by the Department of European, American and Intercultural Studies at Sapienza University of Rome and the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics at Newcastle University. The Sapienza-Newcastle Seminar Series is devised to serve as an online platform for PhD/PG students to present their work currently in progress and engage in constructive discussions with peers, faculty and attendees.
