Sergio VILA TOJO - “Psychosocial factors related to public acceptance of wastewater reuse”
07 novembre 2024
Wastewater reuse is a promising solution to address global water scarcity. However,
public acceptance remains a significant challenge. This presentation will examine key
psychosocial factors that influence acceptance or rejection of decentralized wastewater
treatment systems and related products, such as recycled water and nutrients used in
fertilizer production. Factors such as risk perception, trust in science, and emotional
responses play crucial roles in shaping acceptance. The research presented provides
insights into how to effectively address public doubts and misgivings regarding
wastewater reuse.
