Resources available to PhD students

Additional scholarships
External funding for additional scholarships:
- 11 in the 39th cycle;
5 additional ENEA grants + 4 grants financed within the Extended Partnerships + 1 grant financed by the Department of Chemistry + 1 financed by the National Center 4 Spoke 13.
- 2 in the 40th cycle:
2 additional ENEA grants + others to be confirmed

Dedicated funds
In addition to the doctorate funds, each tutor makes their own research funds available to support the research activities and missions of the doctoral students, with particular reference to: carrying out research periods abroad, participation in conferences and congresses, contributions for the publication of scientific works in international journals.

Workplaces and workstations
Each doctoral student is provided with work spaces and equipment in the tutors' laboratories. They are also provided by the relevant Departments of the study stations for doctoral students. The doctorate also provides for the periodic purchase of personal protective equipment, which is provided to doctoral students on a regular basis based on work needs.

Libraries
The resources of the libraries are accessible to doctoral students: "Eugenio Mariani" at the DICMA and "Gabriello Illuminati" at the Dept. of Chemistry.
Doctoral students access (even remotely) the online database made available by Sapienza and the Departments, as well as the collections in the relevant libraries.

Hardware and software tools
Doctoral students benefit from IT equipment (hardware) made available by the tutors. A computer room with 16 workstations is also active at DICMA. The main calculation and modeling software are available to doctoral students. As part of the distribution of expenses for the doctorate, the purchase of specific software for research is also periodically envisaged.
The main modeling software in the sector (Aspen, Pro II, SuperPRo Designer, SimaPro) as well as the MatLab, MatCade applications and the main statistical software are made available to doctoral students by the relevant Departments. In recent years, the doctorate has always reserved a portion of the funds available for the acquisition of licenses for further specialist software (COMSOLMultiphysics, Medusa4 P&I, CaRIne Crystallography, OpenLab HPLC, COSMO).

Bibliographic materials
The collection of Sapienza subscriptions and magazines is supplemented by specific subscriptions to sector magazines from the departments whose professors belong to the doctorate.

Scientific equipment
The laboratories of the Department of Chemistry and DICMA are equipped with scientific equipment for carrying out innovative research activities in the sectors pertaining to the doctorate. Over the years, the doctorate has made the specific purchase of additional equipment exclusively for use by doctoral students, including: Ozosol ozonizer, MiniLys homogenizer, HACH titrator, COOLSafe freeze-dryer.
