The PhD course pursues a series of objectives to be achieved through individual training, divided into three areas: 1 Disciplinary content of the PhD, 2 Higher education, 3 Methodology in research. 1 - Up-to-date knowledge of the general topics; - Specific study of the topics of the two curricula (relations between theories and the project - curr. A; interior and fit-out architecture - curr. B); - In-depth study of a thematic sub-articulation; - Ability to provide scientifically adequate contributions 2 - Mastery of sources; - Ability to write in an academic scientific context; - Mastery of sources and bibliographical apparatus; - Control of methodological aspects; - Ability to communicate scientific results and to organise reports and interventions of a didactic nature; - Ability to deepen the methods of transmission of discipline-specific topics 3 - Ability to provide research organisations and public institutions with adequate responses to the topics of investigation; - Ability to conduct field surveys; Ability to draw up adequate design hypotheses. The PhD is organised according to the system of training credits, corresponding to a total of 180 credits, normally divided into 60 per year, as follows: - training (lectures, seminars and workshops); - writing the final papers required by the seminars or workshops; - meetings and discussions with the Board of Lecturers; - teaching internships within Courses and Design Workshops; - participation in architectural competitions, study trips, internships and conferences - publication of research products in volumes or scientific journals; - internships within research facilities; For the internship within research structures, the DiAP is divided into a series of Laboratories that constitute the natural reference areas of the two curricula. The PhD Course is divided into seven training profiles: 1 Profile aimed at the experimentation of the complex urban project. (curr. A) 2 Analytical and historical-critical profile on the architecture of the modern and contemporary city. (curr. A) 3 Profile addressed to the theory and criticism of contemporary architecture. (curr. A) 4 Profile addressed to the study and experimentation of the dwelling in its transformative and evolutionary processes also in relation to its environmental sustainability. (curr. A and B) 5 Profile aimed at the study and experimentation of architecture as communication in the use of contemporary information tools. (curr. A and B) 6 Profile addressed to the study and experimentation of architectural and urban design in countries of traditional non-European culture. (curr. A) 7 Profile addressing the subject of interior architecture, exhibition and display spaces (curr. B) |
