Annual report

Academic Year 2024/2025

During the XL cycle the PHD acquired 11 new doctoral students according to the following breakdown:

Sapienza scholarships : 8
External scholarships : 0
Grants from PNRR funds: 1
Places without scholarships : 2

Some Joint Thesis Supervision (Cotutelle) have been added to these positions.

The teaching and research activity of the Doctoral Course was differentiated by course year.

The first year doctoral students dedicated proportionally more time to their training, as foreseen by the Doctoral training plan, without naturally neglecting the research for the doctoral thesis project, under the guidance of the tutor.
Second-year doctoral students continued to devote themselves to their education, but intensified their research for the doctoral thesis project, always under the guidance of the tutor.
Finally, the third year doctoral students, according to the training plan, dedicated themselves almost entirely to writing the doctoral thesis, but the publications, which are fundamental for continuing their academic career, were not neglected. They also committed themselves to organizing seminar days which also involved doctoral students from other Italian and foreign universities.

They all also participated with reports in seminars and conferences and proposed articles for publication.
Teaching activities and seminars were held face-to-face, allowing remote attendance only to those on authorized research missions. They were supplemented by two theoretical-methodological laboratories: one dedicated to scientific writing and the other intended for
handling of digital assets.
All these activities are accounted for in the Doctoral Cards, while the articles produced have been uploaded to the IRIS system.
