Annual report

Academic Year 2024/2025

During the 40th cycle, the Doctorate programme acquired 11 new doctoral students, broken down as follows:

Sapienza scholarships: 8
External scholarships: 0
Scholarships funded by PNRR funds: 1
Places without scholarships: 2

In addition to these places, there were also some joint supervisions.

The teaching and research activities of the Doctoral Programme were differentiated by year of study.

First-year PHD students devoted proportionally more time to their training,
as required by the Doctoral Programme's training plan, without, of course, neglecting their research for
their doctoral thesis project, under the guidance of their tutor.
Second-year PHD students continued to devote themselves to their training, but
intensified their research for their doctoral thesis project, again under the guidance of their tutor.
Finally, third-year PHD students, in accordance with the training plan, devoted themselves almost entirely
to writing their doctoral thesis, but did not neglect publications, which are essential forcontinuing their
academic career. They were also involved in organising seminars that included doctoral students from other
Italian and foreign universities.

In addition, all of them participated in seminars and conferences with presentations and submitted articles for
publication.
Teaching activities and seminars were held in person, with remote attendance permitted
only for those on authorised research missions. These were supplemented by two
theoretical-methodological workshops: one dedicated to scientific writing and the other to the
management of digital resources.
All these activities are reported in the PhD student records, while the articles produced have been
uploaded to the IRIS system.
