Quantum systems such as the memory of a quantum computer suffer from decoherence - uncontrolled decay of information. Dynamical decoupling offers one of the potential remedies. We will motivate and discuss the setting at a generally accessible level before looking into some of the more mathematical-analytical issues and criteria of whether and how dynamical decoupling works.
