OPPORTUNITIES FOR ECONOMIC SUPPORT FOR NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY:

1) UNIVERSITY RESEARCH PROJECTS
The members of the Doctoral College promote the involvement of doctoral students in university research projects (Annual Call for Proposals, Large, Medium and Small Projects), allocating funds for missions abroad and in Italy. The following projects currently involve PhD students:
§ Mario Casari: Large Athenaeum Project, call for proposals 2022, entitled "A Puppet in the East: Translation and Reception of Carlo Collodi's Pinocchio from the Arab Word to Far East Asia" (Prot. RG1221816BEC7787, deadline December 2024); PhD students Giacomo Longhi and Gloria Cella are participating
§ Federica Casalin: Large Athenaeum Project, call for proposals 2023, entitled "Mapping China Studies in Italy (1861-1949): A Digital Archive (MaCSI-DA)" (Prot. RG123188B4B99351, deadline January 2027); PhD students Benigni Martina, Bergamini Mirko, Gloria Cella, Alessia Paolillo participate.

2) PRIN PROJECTS
The members of the Doctoral College promote the involvement of doctoral students in PRIN projects.
The following project currently involves doctoral students
PRIN 2022, BIOGRAPHICAL DATABASE OF ITALIANS IN CHINA: 1866-1970 (BDIC 1866-1970). Protocol 2022MTZYJL. Doctoral candidate included: Chiara Lepri.

3) ERASMUS MOBILITY
Doctoral students are encouraged by means of information meetings (first year, start-up to the doctorate; subsequent years by appointment with the coordinator) to take advantage of funded mobility opportunities with reimbursement of expenses within the framework of Erasmus agreements (listed on the website) expressly aimed at Level III mobility. The request must be a by the supervisor and then approved by the agreement managers.

4) MOBILITY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF OTHER INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS

(a) mobility agreements managed by the Non-EU mobility and International Education Agreements Unit. For such agreements it is envisaged:
- ONLY for doctoral students without a scholarship: financial support by financing stays abroad in the locations with which an agreement is in force;
- for all: logistical support in the same locations and access to the international network of scholars with whom a collaboration is established.

b) Mobility and scientific collaboration agreements managed by the 'International Relations Area':
- possibility of using ad hoc funds if provided for in the executive protocol;
- logistical support and access to the international network of scholars with whom collaboration is initiated.

5) MOBILITY CALLS
Every year the University announces 6-month mobility grants for PhD students without a scholarship, which include hosting and scientific supervision by a foreign institution. The PhD programme in CAA promotes and provides operational support in the identification of suitable institutions and in the initiation of collaborative relationships in order to promote international mobility, in Europe and in Asian countries of interest to the doctoral student (in the last two years, a 6-month grant for Korea and a 6-month grant for England have been awarded).

6) TARGETED MEETINGS ON PROJECT WRITING FOR COMPETITIVE TENDERS
The PhD programme in CAA organises periodic meetings on project writing for competitive calls, including the Initiation to Research (Type 1 and 2). This activity promotes individual skills in scientific design and argumentation, thus providing useful know-how for accessing further funding opportunities.
