The following will be evaluated: (1) academic background, considering: master's degree, specialized degree, or single-cycle degree, ongoing degree (limited to master's degree or single-cycle degree); (2) publications; (3) scientific background, taking into account: national and international research experiences (including Erasmus), training courses, and research scholarships. |
Oral interview |
The oral examination will consist of two parts: (1) Presentation of a research project: the candidate is required to present a project that is consistent with the research areas of the PhD program in Human Biology and Medical Genetics. The evaluation will be based on knowledge of the state of the art, originality and innovative content, clarity, and completeness of the presentation of objectives, methodologies, and potential results, feasibility of the project, relevance of the project to the educational objectives of the PhD program. It is emphasized that a written project should NOT be submitted, and the presentation does not involve the use of a computer; (2) Skills assessment: the candidate will be asked questions related to basic knowledge of cellular/molecular biology and general/medical genetics, acquired technical skills, and the ability to master them.
At the end of the oral examination, an English language proficiency test will be conducted, which will involve reading and translating a paragraph from an article in English on a topic related to the themes of the PhD program.
