RESEARCH TOPIC
The research topic is proposed during the application phase of the admission competition and may be subsequently modified as established by the University Regulations [Art. 12.7] depending on the evolution of the scientific project.
Following successful admission to the program, starting in 2022, each doctoral student will be assigned a supervisor and
at least one co-supervisor, who may be Italian or foreign and may also be external to the Board, in order to ensure a plurality of approaches and skills.
Doctoral students are supported by the College and supervisors in the independent development of original research, over which they retain full scientific and intellectual control. The coordinator and the College guarantee constant scientific, material, and administrative support through formal and informal discussions and through the required assessments. Supervisors and co-supervisors ensure continuous support through periodic meetings and the evaluation of annual reports, promoting the advancement of research. They also encourage the establishment of contacts with other institutions, the identification of opportunities for international mobility, and the dissemination of research results.
At the end of the program, two external evaluators of recognized importance and expertise in the research topic are appointed for each doctoral student. They are asked to express an opinion on the originality of the work, the methodological correctness, the use of sources, the bibliography, and the results achieved.
