LaPIs - Laboratori Permanenti Iscrizioni (Permanent Enrolment Laboratories) is a series of inter-university doctoral seminars dedicated to Greek and Latin epigraphy, organised jointly by doctoral students from the three universities of Rome (La Sapienza, Tor Vergata, Roma Tre). The seminars take the form of paired presentations: each meeting is dedicated to a common macro-theme, to which each speaker contributes with an individual presentation. The total duration of the session is approximately one hour (30 minutes for each presentation), followed by a final discussion. A professor chairs the session. The meetings are held in person, on a rotating basis, at one of the three universities in Rome, following the chronological order of their foundation. The aim of the project is to encourage the sharing of research and projects by doctoral students and PhD graduates interested in Greek and Latin epigraphy.
The first meeting took place on September 30, 2025, at La Sapienza, and Prof. Camia moderated the seminar.
The next meeting will take place on
28 January 2026 at 2.30 p.m. at La Sapienza University, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, 1st floor, Lecture Hall V; the meeting will be moderated by Prof. Orlandi.
Speakers: Samuele Cialdi (La Sapienza University of Rome) Simone Giorgi (University of Rome “Tor Vergata”)
The final two meetings of the year will follow in February and March 2026, at Tor Vergata and Roma Tre, respectively.
