The purchase of 1,040 units for public housing is one of the Rome City Council's major housing policy initiatives. Following an initial deed of sale for 338 homes in December 2025, the purchase of an additional 702 homes owned by the Enasarco Foundation is expected to be finalized in 2026. Where is this new public housing stock located and how is it distributed across the city? What are its concentration areas, and how do they relate to the 66,000 public housing units already existing in the capital? This article offers a spatial and typological analysis of the "Enasarco housing" with the aim of highlighting the challenges and opportunities associated with this new public housing stock.
