Il giorno 07 marzo 2019 alle ore 16.30 si è tenuta presso l’Aula Magna del Palazzo del Rettorato la Cerimonia di Premiazione del “Premio Minerva alla Ricerca Scientifica II Edizione”. In tale occasione Maria Denise Astorino, neo-dottore di ricerca in Modelli Matematici per l’Ingegneria, Elettromagnetismo e Nanoscienze (XXXI ciclo), ha ricevuto una menzione di merito per la tesi di Dottorato “Wideband Equivalent-Circuit Model Analysis, Realization and Time-Domain Spectroscopy Characterization of Terahertz Periodic Metamaterial Devices” che tratta i dispositivi metamateriali periodici alle frequenze terahertz investigandoli nelle varie fasi del loro sviluppo: analisi elettromagnetiche, modelli circuitali equivalenti, macromodelli parametrici, progettazione, micro-fabbricazione, caratterizzazione sperimentale tramite spettroscopia nel dominio del tempo alle frequenze THz e post-elaborazione dei dati.

realistic model

Microgels.Microgels are colloidally stable microparticles constituted by cross-linked polymers (typically PNIPAM)
that hold the unique property to swell and de-swell in response to external stimuli that unbalance
the inside and outside osmotic equilibrium. Study from a structural point of view the conformations the microgels assume at the interface
and compare to experimental outcomes.
