Consistently with these activities, the doctoral students defined the theme of their respective individual research works, defining the general approach, the main expected aims, the articulation of the main phases, an initial annotated bibliography, a summary survey of the state of the art.
The themes examined by the research were: The new frontiers of the survey: from data acquisition to the semantic segmentation of point clouds for the classification of cultural heritage; The physical model in the search for form. Experiments for the definition of an integration methodology between the models; Integrated territorial and architectural survey: grafting of radar antenna applications; Cognitive models of urban space; Virtual reality for the communication of cultural heritage; Knowledge, conservation and enhancement of the vernacular heritage on earth.
Restoration Curriculum (ICAR19)
The doctoral students of the XXXVI cycle carried out their respective research works, defining the topics to be developed and studied, starting with the analysis of the state of the art. The research undertaken concerned the heterogeneity of the architectural heritage of the Nobile di Carmignano in relation to the activity of Alfred Nobel and Attilio Muggia; the villa Mirafiori and its garden in the complexity of its modifications in the context of Rome Capital and the restorations and transformation into a museum of Villa Giulia in Rome.
On the basis of the study of the published bibliography, the investigation of the iconographic and archive sources, the direct observation through the inspections and the first approaches to the survey of the various architectural organisms, they identified the salient aspects of their respective researches, elaborating the first reflections and defining the initial setting of their work to be carried out in the subsequent years of the Doctoral Course.
