MicroRNAs (miRs) are small non-coding RNAs which regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. Their dys-regulation has been observed in all types of cancer and, more broadly, in several human diseases. Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) are membrane-coated particles released by all cells, including cancer cells and are involved in inter-cellular communication. This seminar will highlight the role of miRs as cargo of EVs in shaping the tumor microenvironment, contributing to the growth and dissemination of cancer, as well as their potential therapeutic role, as powerful anticancer molecules released by Natural Killer (NK) cells.
