The doctoral course favours and encourages doctoral students to undertake study trips abroad and, to this end, also makes use of the university's scholarship bonus scheme. In particular, doctoral students are invited to carry out these activities in the second year, but possibilities are not precluded in the other years as well. Every year a number of doctoral students undertake stays abroad.
There is currently a mobility agreement for doctoral students with the Universidade Federal do Rio De Janeiro and a number of agreements that are included in the Erasmus programmes. The list of these can be found

Other mobility agreements are instead defined on the basis of occasions and opportunities that arise on the basis of research and venue availability.
The doctoral internationalisation commission set up in October 2023 has been working on the establishment of model agreements on exchanges between doctoral students and contacts are under way with universities to stabilise these solutions.
