“Research Methods and Instruments” Seminars
The lectures are open to all, joint curricula, 1st year PhD candidates and address basic topics, transversal and common to all the students that are beginning to set and develop a research path for the coming 3-year period.

Seminars on the “Development and Results of Research and in progress Experimentation”
Eight meetings, out of which two are aimed at explaining the contents and the results of experimental activities developed during the previous year, and six where the PhD candidates of the 1st year will be asked to assist the Dissertation research activity progress presentations of the 2nd and 3rd year PhD candidates, together with the Supervisors who assisted them and all the academic staff of the Board who participated to such activitites.

Seminar "Systemic and Complexity in Architecture and Design"
The first experience corresponds with a seminar with in depth technical-methodologic studies aimed at setting up and developing a confrontation between PhD candidates on the topic proposed by the PhD “Systemic and Complexity in Architecture”.

Theoretical-methodologic Seminars: lectures, meetings and critical readings on topic proposed by the PhD
The activities of this seminar have a training purpose aimed at specialized exploration of the methodologic disciplinary aspect, at the development of a theoretic-methodologic research attitude and are therefore shared by all the PhD candidates of the cycle, who are invited and encouraged to work and interact transversally in respect to the tree curricula.
In the specific, the 1st year PhD candidates are invited to choose one of the following topics, to carry a research – supported by a bibliographic structure – and to include the results in a critical writing, an essay, within the deadline.

Experimental-applicative Seminars – “international workshop”
Research workshop abroad and in coordination with other international institutions which will host the missions of PhD candidate groups, agreed upon on through joint ventures.
