Eventuali maggiori informazioni per le voci sopra elencate A partire dall'anno accademico 2019/2020, l'offerta formative del dottorato è stata strutturata in modo da includere corsi specialistici appositamente disegnati per gli studenti di dottorato. L'offerta formativa erogata e programmata è molto ricca e consta di 1. corsi di base, rivolti gli studenti di dottorato del I anno, svolti tra gennaio ed ottobre, con valutazione finale 2. corsi specialistici, rivolti agli studenti del II anno, anche in vista della scelta del tema di ricerca da sviluppare nella tesi Gli studenti provenienti da corsi di laurea magistrale diversi da quelli offerti dal dipartimento di Scienze Statistiche sono anche invitati a migliorare ed estendere le proprie conoscenze frequentando alcuni corsi di laurea magistrale, selezionati dallo studente sotto la supervisione del coordinatore e del responsabile del curriculum di afferenza. Gli studenti sono invitati a partecipare attivamente ai seminari ed ai corsi offerti da altre realtà accademiche, in Sapienza e nelle altre Università del territorio. CURRICULUM DEMOGRAFIA (D) Gli studenti del curriculum di Demografia di ogni ciclo titolari di borsa (in base ad una selezione interna che è funzione dei posti disponibili) sono invitati a frequentare la “European Doctoral School of Demography” (EDSD – www.eds-demography.org). Per gli a.a. 2015-2016 e 2016-2017, sede principale dell’EDSD è stata l’Università di Roma La Sapienza. Per gli anni accademici 2017-2018 e 2018-2019, sede principale dell’EDSD è stato il Max Planck Odense Center, University of Southern Denmark (Odense, Danimarca). Per gli anni accademici 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022 e 2022-2023 sede principale della scuola europea è ed è stata il Centre d'Estudis Demogràfics, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spagna). Per l'anno accademico 2023-2024 i corsi EDSD si terranno a Institut national d’études démographiques (Ined), Parigi. I dottorandi, in base alla loro formazione ed agli interessi di ricerca, concordano con il coordinatore un piano di studi adeguato e seguono una selezione dei corsi elencati, per almeno 36 crediti, tra quelli offerti per il I anno di tutti e tre i curricula (D,SA,SM, corso base) o da quelli offerti dall'EDSD (D-EDSD, corso base) CURRICULUM SCIENZE ATTUARIALI (SA) Nel primo anno di corso il curriculum in Scienze Attuariali si prefigge innanzitutto di garantire ai dottorandi, mediante insegnamenti appositamente definiti per il dottorato, una formazione di livello avanzato nelle discipline matematiche, probabilistiche e statistiche che costituiscono l’indispensabile bagaglio scientifico per l’avvio di un’attività di ricerca altamente qualificata nell’ambito delle Scienze attuariali. Nel primo i dottorandi sono anche invitati a seguire cicli di seminari, organizzati nell'ambito del dottorato o dal Dipartimento di Scienze Statistiche, su specifici argomenti che il Collegio dei docenti giudica pertinenti agli ambiti di ricerca del dottorato e di particolare interesse e attualità. As of the 2019/2020 academic year, the doctoral training offering has been structured to include specialized courses specifically designed for doctoral students. Modalità di scelta del soggetto della tesi CURRICULUM DEMOGRAFIA Il dottorando nel corso del primo anno manifesta interessi e attitudini che lo porteranno successivamente a circoscrivere l’argomento della tesi. I dottorandi che frequentano l’EDSD mettono a punto un progetto di ricerca che discutono alla fine della frequenza dei corsi. Tale progetto spesso costituisce la base per la futura tesi di dottorato. Entro la fine del primo anno, a ciascun dottorando viene assegnato un supervisore interno al Collegio dei docenti. In alcuni casi, in base al tema di ricerca della tesi, al supervisore viene affiancato un esperto esterno al Collegio. CURRICULUM SCIENZE ATTUARIALI Il soggetto è di solito scelto dai dottorandi sulla base dei propri interessi di ricerca e della propria preparazione, tra le tematiche attinenti ai temi del dottorato. Il supervisore, solitamente interno al collegio dei docenti, viene assegnato a ciascun dottorando alla fine del primo anno. A seconda del tema di ricerca della tesi, il supervisore può essere affincato (sostituito) da un esperto esterno al collegio dei docenti. Eventuali maggiori informazioni per le voci sopra elencate A partire dall'anno accademico (2019/2020) il collegio dei docenti ha provveduto a definire alcuni corsi specialistici appositamente disegnati per gli studenti del II anno di dottorato. I corsi intendono proporre una review di alcuni temi di ricerca di particolare rilevanza ed interesse; sono spesso tenuti da docenti esterni al dipartimento (si veda, ad. es. l'offerta formativa erogata nell'a.a 2022-2023) in modo da favorire la crescita di collaborazioni scientifiche tra studenti del dottorato e personalità scientifiche di livello internazionale. CURRICULUM DEMOGRAFIA (D) Nel secondo anno di corso l’attività dei dottorandi è finalizzata principalmente all’avvio della tesi ed all’ acquisizione delle competenze specifiche necessarie per lo sviluppo del tema di ricerca oggetto della tesi. CURRICULUM SCIENZE ATTUARIALI (SA) Nel secondo anno di corso l’attività dei dottorandi, costantemente seguita da un tutor supervisore, è finalizzata all’avvio della tesi di dottorato ed al completamento, entro il termine dell’anno accademico, di un contributo scientifico. Per il raggiungimento di questi obiettivi il Collegio dei docenti incoraggia e favorisce la possibilità, per i dottorandi, di trascorrere un periodo di studio e ricerca all’estero, presso Università e Centri di ricerca di particolare qualificazione scientifica e dove, in particolare, il tema della ricerca ha fatto registrare un particolare sviluppo. Inoltre, i dottorandi sono tenuti a seguire i corsi ed i seminari indicati dal Collegio dei Docenti. Per ciascun Corso frequentato è prevista una verifica finale. Eventuali maggiori informazioni per le voci sopra elencate Nel terzo anno di corso l’attività dei dottorandi è fortemente concentrata nella redazione della tesi di dottorato che consiste in una ricerca articolata, documentata e con originali su un tema che il Collegio dei docenti giudica rilevante e pertinente rispetto agli ambiti di ricerca del dottorato. La ricerca è sviluppata con la direzione del supervisore e l'eventuale ausilio di altri docenti del Collegio o studiosi, italiani e stranieri. Il Collegio dei docenti incoraggia la redazione di tesi di dottorato in lingua inglese. Oltre all’impegno relativo alla tesi di dottorato, il Collegio dei docenti consiglia fortemente ai dottorandi la partecipazione a seminari d iricerca, offerti nell'ambito del Dottorato od organizzati dal Dipartimento di Scienze Statistiche. Modalità di ammissione all'esame finale Il dottorando accede all'esame finale a seguito della valutazione positiva espressa dal Collegio dei docent riguardo la tesi di dottorato ed il complesso dell'attività di ricerca svolta durante l'intero triennio. Con largo anticipo rispetto all'invio ai valutatori esterni (di solito nel mese di giugno) è inoltre prevista la presentazione della tesi di dottorato di fronte al Collegio dei docenti, con relativa valutazione. Questo permette ai membri del Collegio dei Docenti di fornire suggerimenti, modifiche, arricchimenti finalizzati al miglioramento dell'elaborato finale.
