Starting with some examples taken from the lessons led by Mirella Bordoni for first-year students at the Experimental Cinematography Center in Rome, the two-part intervention questions the essence of Costa's mimicry method to highlight its value as a pedagogical path in the most stringent sense of the term. Even before learning a technique, learning how to act, students begin to identify the foundations of any creative process (consciousness of self, consciousness of the other, the relationship between self and other) and to strengthen the cornerstones of artistic expression: imagination and suggestion.
