Recent research has revealed that social class contexts and the economic and
health crisis related to the covid-19 pandemic shape perceptions of the social
environment, other-oriented emotions, and social behavior. Based on a social
cognitive perspective, I will present a set of our correlational, experimental,
and longitudinal studies examining the effects of (objective and subjective)
social class and economic/health threat on trust, well-being, mental health,
and pro- and anti-social tendencies.
