LORENZO MATTEI (Università di Bari)
18/05/2023, ore 11, Università di Palermo
The lecture focuses on today's historiography of opera theater and how the research of the past twenty-five years has been assimilated into it. The intertwining of sociology, cultural anthropology, history of ideas and reception, investigations on singers and the performing world, has resulted in a renewal of critical paradigms and sometimes a revision of historical macro-phenomena. An attempt will be made to clarify how a history of melodrama can be written today.
