The large symmetrical appendages house the solar panels and the external flaps for aerobraking manoeuvres (inclined to give aerodynamic stability). The square structure in the foreground is the VISAR radar antenna, which will allow high precision interferometric acquisitions. The high gain antenna for telecommunications and gravity measurements is located on the opposite face of the VISAR antenna.
