TRAINING ACTIVITIES-COURSES:https://phd.uniroma1.it/web/SEMINARS-STRUCTURAL-AND-GEOTECHNICAL-ENGINEERING_nH3515_EN.aspx (SEMINARS item in the drop-down menu on the left)
THE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES provided within the PhD course (primarily oriented to 1st and 2nd year PhD students) concerned COURSES and SEMINARS on topics specific to the scientific sectors of Construction Sciences, Construction Techniques and Geotechnics, divided into courses/ basic seminars (B), mandatory as a percentage for first year students and advanced/specialist courses/seminars (A), optional for all doctoral students (the criteria are given in the pdf files attached to this page). These courses, taught in Italian and/or English, by professors of Italian and international universities (USA, China, New Zealand, Europe) have become a point of reference for other doctoral programs at a national and international level.
The assignment of training credits has been contemplated.
- Attendance at courses of particular interest in Italy and abroad has also been envisaged.
- Other courses offered in collaboration with the University PhD Governance were dedicated to transversal training activities essential for the development of research activity and concerned above all:
- systems for valorising and managing research results (publications, open access, databases, etc.)
- relations with the job market (Third Mission and entrepreneurship – start-up)
- advanced scientific computing tools (Machine/Deep Learning; big
date; AI and digital twins), for inclusion in the world of applied research (industry)
- methods of participation in European funding programs in R&I field, to post doc positions including international ones (MCSA)
- technology transfer and digital transformation activities in the strategic sectors of the energy transition and sustainability (next generation EU: +health, +green, +digital)
- communication aspects and ethical implications of the research
