This seminar introduces students to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in the automotive industry. It covers the automotive electromagnetic environment, EMC requirements, and key challenges, explaining both internal and external EMC interactions within a vehicle. The seminar explores industry-specific standards and regulations, outlining external and internal EMC norms, immunity and emission requirements, and relevant directives. It also delves into industrial EMC design, balancing equipment requirements with design principles, and illustrates real-world EMC issues through case studies. Practical aspects such as mitigation techniques and EMC solutions used in the automotive sector are discussed, followed by an overview of numerical simulation tools and vehicle EMC modeling methods. The seminar then covers equipment validation, detailing EMC and
electrical requirements, common testing methods, and immunity assessments. Additionally, it addresses full vehicle validation, presenting major EMC vehicle tests. Finally, the seminar concludes with insights into future EMC challenges in the automotive industry.
