Educational goals and objectives

DYNAMIC AND CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
The Ph.D. course in Dynamic and Clinical Psychology aims to train expert researchers able to operate in the various and multidisciplinary thematic areas of Dynamic Psychology and Clinical Psychology. The training course of this Doctorate is articulated around a single curriculum and a theoretical and experimental programme that provides: A) the participation in research courses and seminars, both general and specialised, with particular attention to methodological issues; B) the conception, development, and implementation of an individual research project aimed at the final dissertation; C) training periods abroad activated at foreign universities, with which scientific collaboration relationships for common research programs have been established for some time. Training and research activities involve the planning of projects aimed at studying sense-motor, communicative, cognitive, and affective skills, as well as relational models and psychopathological processes throughout life. Research activities may also focus on mind-body links, on the early identification of self-regulation disorders, attachment disorders, disorders of parental functions and family relationships, as well as the study of stable developmental trajectories. The study and analysis of the therapeutic relationship from a multidisciplinary perspective are promoted, and research is planned to deepen the dynamic and clinical models for evaluating the results and processes involved in psychotherapy. Basic research activities applied to dynamic, clinical, legal, and forensic psychology and to the history of psychology are also encouraged.
