During the PhD programme, students must complete 30 educational credits obtained from the following types of activities:

Master’s degree courses (up to 12 ECTS) – If needed to recover essential knowledge, agreed upon with the student’s advisor and approved by the PhD board.

PhD courses (up to 18 credits) – Chosen independently by the student, in agreement with their advisor. Courses offered by Sapienza and Luiss are eligible, as well as courses and winter/summer schools organised by other universities.

Scientific seminars (up to 12 credits) – Delivered at universities or as part of conferences/workshops.
At least 22 credits must be earned during the first year.
Students may take advantage during the second semester of the following master's degree courses provided by Sapienza. Each course will be worth 6 ECTS. Courses start on the last week of February. Contact the coordinator for more information.
