PhD students enrolled in the second year are required to attend at least 30 hours of the training activities included in the overall teaching offer. The calendar of teaching activities, in addition to being communicated personally to the PhD students, is published on the PhD website.
In the second year of the course, doctoral students are also invited to increase participation in independently chosen training or research activities, such as attendance at conferences on the topics they deal with, summer or winter schools, refresher courses and seminars taught outside the PhD in Linguistics, always subject to the approval of the tutors.
Once a year, each doctoral student will have to hold a seminar on the state of his research. In addition to PhD students, tutors and interested members of the College may also take part in the seminar. This seminar will replace the presentation of the state of the works to the College for the purpose of moving to the third year of the course. Pursuant to the Operating Regulations of the Research Doctorate in Linguistics, for the transition of the year, doctoral students are required to present to their tutors at least one scientific work of publishable level, on a theme connected to the drafting of the thesis.
