Annual report

The PhD programme concluded its first five years and awarded 12 PhDs.
The programme has currently 31 students, including 2 with PON scholarships (Caracci, Marsulli), 2 ex art. 6 (secondary school teachers: Boschi, Seravalli), 3 privately financed students (Lamanna, Polegri, Agnello).
48% of the enrolled students got their MAs from Sapienza, 35% from other Italian universities, 17% got their MAs abroad. The programme is therefore attractive beyond our closer academic community.
There are 9 running co-tutorships (with the universities of Grenoble, Lille, Poitiers, Rennes, Koblenz-Landau, Athens, Evora, Porto): 5 external (Mykoniati, Petriglia, Usai, Souaré, Zambelli), 4 internal (Autorino, Cacciatori, Faillace, Fiorentino), and 3 are being finalized (2 with the EPHE, Paris and 1 with Zurich).
Overall our students spent approximately 40 months abroad.
Students' research interests cover all the areas offered in the programme: Latin, Germanic and Romance Middle Ages, Greek and Latin Palaeography, linguistic cultures in the extra-European Francophonie, the linguistic culture of Latin America and, recently also the creole in migrant communities in Italy.
