Curriculum B - Architecture and City is dedicated to the study of urban forms and processes of transformation/modification of the city, with a multidisciplinary design approach. Particular attention is paid to the critical analysis of the mechanisms of formation of urban structures, both historical and contemporary, to settlement principles and urban types, deepening the interactions between different design scales in the construction of fabrics and open, public or natural space. In particular, the objectives of the research are the enhancement of the urban architectural heritage, integrating the protection and enhancement of historicized contexts with the new needs of environmental and social sustainability. The research conducted in this area of study addresses issues related to the transformation of the existing city in different urban contexts, both formal and informal, in which the integration of green infrastructures and innovative environmental solutions is relevant, with particular attention to the quality of the habitat and the permanent characteristics and values of the environment and built heritage.
