Rolando Marini (Perugia, 1955) is full professor in the field of Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes at the University for Foreigners of Perugia (Department of Human and Social Sciences). In April 2018, he was awarded the national scientific qualification for the first rank in his field. His study and research interests are in theories of media-society relationship, journalism and the dynamics of public space. He is president of the three-year degree program in International, Intercultural and Advertising Communication. In the scientific associations he is a member of, he has held the following positions: full member of the Steering Committee of the Italian Association of Sociology, for the three-year period 2017-19; full member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Association of Political Communication, from 2010 to 2016, as a member by right since its establishment.
