Associate Professor of Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes in the Department of Communication and Social Research (CoRiS) at Sapienza, University of Rome, Paola Panarese teaches Advertising and Brand Communication in the Faculty of Political Science, Sociology, Communication at Sapienza.
Her scientific interests mainly concern the relations between youth, lifestyles and cultural practices, gender and media, advertising, corporate communication and ethics.
She is co-director of the Mediamonitor Minors Research Observatory.
She is director of the GEMMA (Gender and Media Matters) Research Unit.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Interdepartmental Research Center DigiLab, of Sapienza University and former director (in 2021-2022) of the Contamnation Lab Celio.
She is president of the master's degree program Gender studies, cultures and policies for media and communication.
She is a member of the scientific committee of journals and publishing series, such as Journal of Italian Cinema and Media Studies, Anàlisi.
