Delivered study plan 2022/2023

I year
First year students have taken courses organized by the Scientific Board as well as take part to workshops and schools in agreement with the supervisor.




Method of choosing the subject of the thesis
Each student, at the beginning of the first year and in accordance with the Scientific Board, had selected a supervisor. 
Each student has agreed on a possible  project thesis with the supervisor.


Admission to the second year
At the end of the first year students prepared a report that demonstrated their understanding of the field of study and that they have made a reasonable start to the specific project.
After the report has been independently assessed by the feedback supervisor and the Director of Graduate Studies, an interview has been taken to discuss progress.
On the basis of all the evidence of achievement to date the Scientific Board decided whether a student can continue into the second year with a PhD registration. 

 
II year
Second year students have taken courses organized by the Scientific Board as well as take part to workshops and schools in agreement with the supervisor.





Method of preparation of the thesis

At the beginning of the second year students were asked to produce a short research plan at the start of the year. 
The report has been independently assessed by the feedback supervisor and the Scientific Board.


Admission to the third year
At the end of the second year students prepared a report that demonstrated their understanding of the field of study and that they have made a reasonable start to the specific project.
After the report has been independently assessed by the feedback supervisor and the Director of Graduate Studies, an interview was taken to discuss progress.
On the basis of all the evidence of achievement to date the Scientific Board decided whether a student can continue into the second year with a PhD registration. 

 

 
III year
Third year students have taken courses organized by the Scientific Board as well as take part to workshops and schools in agreement with the supervisor.




During the 3 years each student spent a research period in a research organization abroad.

Method of admission to the final examination
Before the end of September, each student produced a final progress review.
After the report has been independently assessed by the feedback supervisor and the Director of Graduate Studies, an interview was held.
On the basis of all the evidence of achievement to date the Scientific Board decided whether a student can discuss the final exam.



Final examination
The final defence took place in the form of a presentation to a scientific commitee composed of 3 experts.
