Research: The case of Montenegro in the period 1878-1921 as an element of interest in Balkan politics, through the analysis of Italian-Montenegrin and Serbian-Montenegrin relations.

Deborah Natale (1987) received her master's degree in 2020th in Historical Sciences: Middle Ages, Modern Age and Contemporary Age at Sapienza University of Rome, where she specialized in the fields of Rijeka-Fiume Occupation, the Adriatic question, the Balkan area and Italian-Russian relations. She was the winner in 2015 of a scholarship at the Yuri Gagarin University of Saratov (RUS) and actually she continues to study the Russian language. Since 2022 she is a junior research fellow at the Interdepartmental Research Center "Cooperation with Eurasia, the Mediterranean and Sub-Saharan Africa" ​​(CEMAS) of Sapienza University of Rome, with which she collaborates in the coordination of various project initiatives. Since November 2022 she is a doctoral student (38 cycle) in "History and cultures of Europe" with a research project entitled "The case of Montenegro through the papers of the Archive of the Historical Office of the Army General Staff (AUSSME) between 1878 and 1921 ", the aim of which is to enhance unpublished military documents from the AUSSME to better understand the Montenegrin question between attempts at independence and subsequent annexation to the kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (SHS).
