Thesis title: ENTER UN(REALITY). Intelligenza artificiale in Architettura
This thesis addresses the relationship between artificial intelligence and architecture by adopting an interdisciplinary perspective that brings together theory, history, and design practice. Architecture is interpreted as a privileged field of observation and experimentation, in which artificial intelligence is not merely a technical tool, but an agent capable of redefining design processes, languages, and models. The thesis then analyzes a series of key themes – including the relationship between architects and technological tools, interaction with non-human intelligent entities, the role of natural language, the transformation of the creative process, the temporal dimension of design, and educational and professional implications – highlighting their operational and theoretical implications. Through a critical approach, the work explores the potential and limitations of AI in architecture, highlighting the ethical, aesthetic, and methodological implications of its use. The research also aims to serve as a mediating device between different disciplinary fields, making complex concepts accessible and contributing to greater awareness of the use of intelligent tools. In the context of an ongoing epistemological transformation, the thesis argues that artificial intelligence must be understood not only as a technology, but as a cultural phenomenon capable of profoundly impacting the way we think, represent, and design space, offering architects new critical and operational possibilities for engaging with contemporary life.
