Biography Valeria Defilippis (Vasto, CH, 31 October 1998) earned her Master’s Degree in Architecture from the IUAV University of Venice, presenting her thesis in Architectural Design titled “MAKING THE INVISIBLE VISIBLE” – Restoration and Enhancement of the Persian Fill Area on the Acropolis of Athens. The thesis, developed within the framework of architectural heritage projects, was awarded with honors and won the 1st prize at the III edition of the “Vittorio e Marina Gregotti” Master’s Thesis Award. Her thesis advisor was Professor Armando Dal Fabbro, with Professor Maddalena Bassani as co-advisor. Since November 2024, she has been a doctoral student in the XL cycle of the DRACo – Doctorate in Architecture and Construction of the City at Sapienza University of Rome. During her Master’s program, she participated in the Erasmus+ experience at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in Granada. This opportunity contributed to her growth not only academically but also socially and linguistically. She has attended various workshops and seminars, including the BiARCH – Bari International Archifestival, where she took part in the international architecture workshop “Margini, confini, frontiere” (2021), organized by the ARCOD Department of the Polytechnic University of Bari as part of the Architecture Festival funded by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC). During this event, she collaborated on the project “Ancient Traces of the Future” under the coordination of Professor Armando Dal Fabbro. Furthermore, she contributed to the development of the project “A Project for the City’s Theater”, which won the 1st prize in the “International Open Ideas Competition for the Design of the Surrounding Area of the Ancient Theatre A’ in Larissa, Greece”, as part of a team led by Professor Armando Dal Fabbro.
