Research: Sisterhood and Nonviolent Conflict Transformation: Feminist Practices Against Political Violence

Valeria Benedetti is a PhD candidate in the National PhD in Peace Studies at Sapienza University of Rome, within the curriculum Restorative Justice, Transitional Justice, and Nonviolent Transformation of Conflicts.
She graduated with honors (110/110 cum laude) in Political Science and Government from the University of Milan "La Statale" and in Classical Studies from the University of Padua, where she is currently completing her MA in Modern Philology.
Her research explores the contribution of feminist practices to the nonviolent transformation of conflicts and to the deconstruction of political violence, through an interdisciplinary approach that combines political philosophy, sociology, and peace studies.
She serves as a City Councillor in Gussago, Spokesperson for the Democratic Women’s Network of Brescia Province, and member of the ANCI Giovani Lombardia Council (National Association of Italian Municipalities), for which she was awarded a place in an international training program for young administrators (PUBLICA 2025/2026).
In 2024, she was selected among the Young Peacebuilders of the Perugia–Assisi Peace March, contributing to the organization of the peace event in 2025.
