Research:
[ENG] The project takes part in the sociological debate relating to the new forms of alienation typical of modern digital society with particular attention to the scope of logistics and retail distribution mediated by digital platforms. The literature has found, in these areas, the proliferation of alienation phenomena embodied by the subtraction of user data, by the breaking of human connections replaced by relationships with digital applications, by the dependence and progressive transfer of knowledge and decision-making powers to machines. Despite this incidence of the phenomena of control and alienation, in Italy, various episodes of countertrend took place: forms of resistance, aggregation between workers and reconstruction of solidarity networks. The research, therefore, with the aim of investigating the reaction of workers to the introduction of modern digital technologies, proposes a study of the production of collective narratives of social change in the context of the struggles of logistics and retail distribution mediated by digital platforms workers. The phenomena of resistance and labor disputes in these sectors show a countertrend with respect to the processes of alienation of individuals and the deterioration of collective narratives of social change that characterize the modern capitalist digital society. The research intends to start from the concrete study of these forms of workers resistance, investigating how, starting from the sharing of economic disputes for better working conditions, collective narratives of social change are going to settle among workers. The project intends to be part of the broader debate concerning the relationship between man and technical development, analyzing the resistance of workers in two sectors in which the phenomena of alienation and working conditions are characterized by the wide use of digital technologies.
