Director and Full Professor, Centre of Reproductive Medicine and Andrology, University of Münster, Germany Professor Schlatt earned his bachelor's degree in biology, his doctorate in zoology, and his habilitation in reproductive biology from the University of Münster.
As part of his postdoctoral research projects in Münster, Australia (Monash University), and the United States (UPenn), he specialized in the study of testicular function and development. After five years as a professor and head of a primate center at the University of Pittsburgh, he joined the University of Münster in 2008. Since then, he has directed CeRA together with Professor Sabine Kliesch, MD.
His research covers various aspects of testicular function, spermatogenesis, and sperm function. Within his research group, he studies fundamental physiological and cell biology approaches, including the potential use of stem cells as a fertility reserve, for example within CRU326.
